Boss pleased with Coventry City's performance, and hails the travelling Sky Blue Army who saw City beat Colchester United 1-0 thanks to a Gary Madine strike..
Coventry City manager Steven Pressley expressed his delight at the Sky Blues' 1-0 win over Colchester United at the Weston Homes Community Stadium, but warned his side not to 'Create another false dawn'.City took all three points thanks to Gary Madine's srike 15 minutes from time, and the Sky Blues' boss was pleased with the strikers performance, especially his link up play with fellow striker Frank Nouble.
"It was a great win, and a great performance." He said. "But I said to the guys in the dressing room after the game, let's just not have another false dawn.
"Finally we took our game plan from the training ground onto the pitch at match day, we counter attacked well, and from one end of the field to the other we attacked with real purpose.
"We didn't just grind out a draw, we controlled large parts and could have been 5 or 6 goals up, but we weren't and it made for a nervous end to the game. But we got all three points.
"Gary Madine again played well today, I thought that today was the best he has played with Frank Nouble, they linked up well and I'm delighted with that."
The win was City's first in the league away from the Ricoh Arena since beating Crewe in March, and Pressley hailed the 503 fans that made the trip to Essex, and saw the team take the win.
He also was quick to praise the work ethic of the team, something he believed has changed since the FA Cup exit at the hands of Worcester.
He continued: "I'm just so glad we gave the travelling support the win. They travelled in numbers as always, and they got behind the team. I'm so delighted for them.
"Since the Worcester game, the work ethic of the team has been fantastic. That standard we saw today is the standard I expect every day.
"I cannot compromise those ethics. The day I do, we have a problem. So hopefully we continue to do that day in day out, and if we do we will have a real team that will do well."
