The Sky Blues striker thinks they should have won the game and rues the missed opportunity to leapfrog the Cod Army in the league...

Coventry City's Simeon Jackson was disappointed that his goal against Fleetwood could not help City go on to win the game.

The Sky Blues striker netted his first goal since the home clash with Crawley back at the start of October 11 minutes from time to give City a point against the Cod Army at the Ricoh Arena.

But the Canadian felt City did enough to warrant the three points and feels the side were unlucky not to do so.

"It was a great header from Gary for the goal and I just got anything I could onto it," Jackson said.

"I don't care how it goes in! I felt we deserved it for the way we came out in the second-half. We worked hard and probably felt we could win it after the goal. We kicked on, the fans got behind us and we put them under more pressure but just couldn't turn the screw and get that crucial moment.

"It was frustrating as we need to be winning our home games and especially today as we could've leapfrogged Fleetwood in the league.

"We looked the more dominant side and all-in-all we did get something from it so there are some positives."

The 27-year-old has been on the bench for the past few weeks but understands that with the congested fixture list there will be squad rotation.

With City now on a four game unbeaten league run, Jackson is also eager for people not to judge the team now, but at the end of the season where they end up.

He continued: "It's a squad game. There are loads and loads of games, particularly over the christmas period and you've just make sure you're ready. When you come on you've got to get noticed and change the game and get goals.

"It's part and parcel of the game of course.

"I don't think the season is only down to one game like the Worcester game, judge us at the end of the season and judge us at that point because there's going to be loads of ups and downs.

"We do feel we're on the up. A few more good results between now and the end of the year and we'll see where we are, it only takes a few wins to change the table dramatically so we'll see how we go."
