Coventry City midfielder Romain Vincelot admitted that he felt the Sky Blues didn't deserve their 2-1 defeat at Bury.City fell behind to Leon Clarke's brace before Reda Johnson's header just after the 60 minute mark gave City hope. After dominating the final 30 minutes, City just couldn't get that crucial equaliser with Marcus Tudgay unfortunate not to net when keeper Rob Lainton made a good stop and Sam Ricketts smashed the bar.
The French midfielder believes a point would have been a fair result but maintains that the team should have been more organised for the two goals.
"I don't think today was a fair result but it happens for a reason," Vincelot said.
"The first goal was a very silly one to concede, it was a schoolboy goal. We didn't organise quick enough and that has to be in the back of our mind when we return to training on Monda, it's stupid to go 1-0 down like that.
"I didn't think it was a free-kick but even after that it doesn't matter we have to organise quickly and be prepared.
"In the second-half though we were on the front foot, we did a lot of good things and we have to keep that in our mind but we can't afford to go 2-0 down.
"At 2-1 we kept going and had a few chances that didn't go in, Sam hit the bar and it would've been a good point because of the fight-back. But we have to start better."
Tony Mowbray was able to change things in the second-half by bringing on Marc-Antoine Fortune and Marcus Tudgay, who both had a positive second-half impact.
Vincelot believes that those substitutions are a good indicator of the depth of the squad and is hopeful of bouncing back next week against Shrewsbury Town at the Ricoh Arena.
He added: "Reda was experienced and physical at the back and Marco and Marcus were a physical threat up front.
"In the second-half we were playing much better and the manager helped re-organise us at half-time. On the bench having Marco and Tuggy coming on shows we have quality strikers and a good squad to bounce back.
"We are disappointed but we have plenty of options and there's still 27 games to go. We have to learn from our mistakes and carry on being positive."
