The Sky Blues boss also wants to see his side score more goals at the Ricoh Arena...

Coventry City manager Steven Pressley was left disappointed with his side's 3-0 home defeat to Swindon, saying that the side's inconsistency has been the "story of their season."

A brace from Andy Williams and a strike from Jonothan Obika condemned City to their first defeat of the year.

But, Pressley did admit that the Sky Blues lost to the better side on the night at the Ricoh Arena and wants to see a reaction against Gillingham on Saturday.

"I think we were beaten by the better side," Pressley said.

"Inconsistency has been the story of our season. The confidence returns with a win and we don't follow that up. It is a huge football club with a great fanbase and we have to handle playing here at the Ricoh Arena.

"The team has not particularly performed consistently, we have to change that mindset we have to handle playing at home and get consistent results here.

"We do have the nucleus of very good team recent weeks - we've seen improvements at times and we've looked good in stages but we must improve. I have confidence in the side, we have to get a reaction and that will come on Saturday.

"We lost to a better side and one thing it does remind us of is we have a long way to go."

The Sky Blues boss is eager to see his side improve their record at the Ricoh Arena, with City having not won in the last four at home.

In turn, Pressley wants to see more goals from his side which he is eager to see lead to more victories in front of the home supporters.

The manager said: "It was disappointing, we worked on the high press for the week and we didn't execute it well enough. We lacked intensity and allowed them to dictate.

"In the second-half we were much better, we applied the principles and had a great chance at 2-0. We have to score more goals, we have to win these types of game at home.

"I want us to score more goals it is as simple as that. We need to score more goals at home and I want to see us improve at the Ricoh Arena, we have to handle playing here."
