The Sky Blues' latest signing is ready to show fans what he is capable of, after making a loan move from Reading earlier today…

Coventry City forward Dominic Samuel revealed his excitement at signing for the Sky Blues after joining the club on an emergency loan deal from Reading.

The 20-year old has joined until April 28th and is already looking forward to Saturday's SkyBet League One clash with Rochdale as a way of showcasing his abilities.

"I heard that Coventry was a good club," he said. "It's a great way for me to get experience and to hopefully get the club up the table.

"I feel like I'm already settled. It's a young squad here and I didn't feel out of place or anything. My first training session was today.

"I'm used to the pressing game that's played here, we do that at Reading and I feel like that will bring the best out of my game.

"I have pace and I like to think I know where the goal is! I also like holding the ball up too, hopefully you'll see some of that at the weekend."

Samuel has represented the England Under-19 squad on three occasions, scoring twice in the process.

The youngster admitted that he was honoured to represent his country and that it was his proudest moment of his fledgling career.

He continued: "England was a great experience. It was the proudest moment of my career.

"There is nothing better than scoring for your country and I got to do that twice."

Samuel has had a spell on the sideline in the past, cutting short his previous loan at Dagenham and Redbridge last year, however City's new number 14 is adamant that it is all behind him now and is focused on Saturday's game.

He concluded: "I did have injuries but I did all the right things. I rehabbed on it and now I'm back to top form.

"I'm up for league one. I know what I can do and what I bring to the team, hopefully you'll see the best of me Saturday."
