Coventry City midfielder Grant Ward revealed his desire to keep the Sky Blues in League One and expressed how he felt that his loan spell had benefited him greatly.On loan from Tottenham Hotspur, Ward has played in every game since his loan deadline day switch until the end of the season and has impressed with some eye-catching performances.
Ward wants to keep progressing and is already focused on Saturday's crucial clash against Colchester United at the Ricoh Arena.
"I'm not studying how everyone around us is getting on," he said. "I'm just focused on what we can do and there is a big game Saturday that we need to get some points from.
"We haven't made any big changes for them, we just need to play our best and if we do that we have a great chance of winning the game.
"I will always give my all here, I am a Coventry player. At the end of the season we will see what happens, but for now and when I put on that shirt, I am a City player."
"I wouldn't say no to staying here. I have developed a lot. Obviously it is all about what Spurs want but if it's good for my development then it's good for me."
Ward puts some of his development down to the tough matches he has had to endure in League One, something he says that you cannot obtain playing in academy matches.
The 20-year old is also unsure of why City's current away record is better than their home record, however he hopes that fortunes will change soon, starting of Saturday.
He continued: "I don't think about it, it doesn't feel different when I play at home or play away, so I don't know why the two forms are so different.
"Against Leyton Orient we had chances and I hit the post. If we get that luck that we didn't have then, Saturday can be different.
"Compared to the Under 21s, these games in League One are tough, it's all about winning and they are more intense. That is the difference.
"You don't get that in other matches. Everyone in the squad wants to win and Saturday is the first step to doing that."
