"I'm all about goals and assists, I want to get fans off of their seats." Coventry City's Blair Turgott

City's latest signing can't wait to get started and is focused on bringing his England goalscoring record to the Sky Blues…

Coventry City winger Blair Turgott cannot wait to get going following his move from West Ham United to the Sky Blues.

The 20-year old has signed a deal until the end of the season and is hopeful to progress his career following previous loan spells in League One for Bradford and Colchester.

The former England Under-19 international has scored ten goals across four different age levels of the Three Lions set-up and wants to replicate his form with City.

"I can't wait to get going," he said. "I want to get some games under my belt and push on.

"I've played a lot of Under-21's football and whilst it is good for your development, I'm now at a stage where I need to step up, be a man in the big wide world and get my career back on track.

"I have done okay with England and I love scoring for my country no matter what age level. I want to bring that here and show what I am all about.

"League One is tight and hopefully a few wins will push us forward. The manager has given me a chance here and I want to be able to repay him.

"I want to show that I'm good enough for a longer contract and that's my aim going forward."

Turgott is already familiar with a number of Sky Blue players, such as Frank Nouble from their days with the Hammers.

City's new number eight confessed that knowing a few of the squad already has helped him settle in and that Saturday's performances of fellow new signings Dominic Samuel and Sanmi Odelusi will spur him on.

He continued: "The first day at training is like the first day of school! I knew a few of the lads already which was easier but everyone has been welcoming to me, it's a tight squad here.

"Sanmi and Dominic have started well, it's now up to me to do the same.  Another debut goal would be nice!

"I'm all about goals and assists, that's my game. I want to get fans off of their seats and give them something to cheer about. If I train hard there is no reason why I can't push on."
