Who else has played for both Swindon Town and Coventry City ahead of City's trip to the County Ground this weekend...

As Coventry City prepare to face Swindon Town this weekend at the County Ground, we look at some of the players who have played for both sides.

The Sky Blues go into the game looking to build on their solid start to the 2014/15 League One season, which includes draws against MK Dons and Barnsley and a win over Sheffield United.

City first played the Robins in 1926 where Swindon recorded a 3-1 victory at Coventry, and the two sides have since played each other 53 times. 

The Sky Blues have beat Swindon on 23 occasions whilst the Robins will be looking to close the gap this weekend having beat City 17 times.

Connections

Dennis Wise

The former Sky Blues midfielder has enjoyed managed Swindon Town for a short time.

After a long career which spanning over clubs such as Chelsea, Wimbledon and Leicester, Wise had his last spell as a player at Coventry City.

He played 13 times for the club, scoring six goals and his four month stay at the club left a great impression on the Sky Blues faithful.



He retired after he was released by City and moved into full-time management with Swindon Town just 13 days later.

He had a short spell at the Robins, leaving for Elland Road just five months later but left the club second in the League Two table.

Lukas Jutkiewicz

The 25-year old striker started his professional career at Swindon Town having rose through the youth ranks at Southampton.

He showed good form for the Robins in the 2006/07 season having signed a three-year deal at the club, scoring five goals and playing a crucial role in the side being promoted to League One.

His form attracted the attention of Everton who signed him in the summer of 2007 and he went on to have loan spells at Plymouth Argyle, Huddersfield Town and Motherwell. 



His form in Scotland with Motherwell attracted the attention of the Sky Blues and he joined the club in 2010 for an undisclosed fee.

Jutkiewicz signed for Middlesbrough in January 2012 for an undisclosed fee and is now on loan at Championship side Bolton Wanderers.

Roy Wegerle

The former United States international had a successful three years at Highfield Road, making over 50 appearances.

He started his career in the MLS with Tampa Bay Rowdies before being spotted by Chelsea in 1986. He made the move to Stamford Bridge but didn't feature regularly for the side and was loaned out to Swindon Town in 1988.



He made seven appearances for the Robins before moving on a permanent transfer to Luton Town. He moved to Coventry City after spells with QPR and Blackburn in a swap deal for Kevin Gallacher in 1992.

After his three-year spell with the club, he moved back to the USA with Colorado Rapids. He ended his career at Tampa Bay Munity in 1998 and he also made 41 appearances for the national side.
