The Sky Blues are currently five-games unbeaten against the Lilywhites ahead of the weekend's game...
Coventry City face Preston North End at the Ricoh Arena this weekend as the Sky Blues look to recover from two consecutive defeats.
Steven Pressley's side welcome the Lilywhites looking to continue their five-game unbeaten run against Simon Grayson's side.
Preston maybe ahead on the overall statistics, with 14 wins over the Sky Blues since the first meeting between the two sides in 1910.
City have beat Preston North End on 10 occasions out of the 38 meetings as we look at some of the connections between the two sides.
Connections
Sam Allardyce
The Dudley-born defender started his career at Bolton Wanderers before spells with Sunderland and Millwall.
Allardyce moved to Coventry City in 1983 from Tampa Bay Rowdies and made 28 appearances for the Sky Blues, scoring one goal.
After spells at Huddersfield Town and Bolton Wanderers, Allardyce moved to Preston North End where he made 90 appearances in the three-year spell.
Allardyce has gone on to have a successful management career and he is the current West Ham manager.
Kevin Gallacher
The Scottish winger moved to the Sky Blues in 1990 from Dundee United and made 100 appearances for the club, scoring 28 goals.
The Scottish winger joined Blackburn Rovers in 1993 for £1.5 million where he won the Premier League.
He moved to Newcastle United after a six-year spell at Ewood Park but returned to Lancashire two years later with PNE.
Gallacher only made five appearances, scoring one goal as injury restricted his one-season with the Lilywhites. He retired in 2002.
Adam Barton
The current Coventry City midfielder started his career in 2008 after progressing through the North End Academy.
Barton made 50 appearances for North End and was linked with a move to Premier League side Liverpool but a triple leg-break kept Barton on the sidelines in the 2011-12 season.
He moved to the Sky Blues in the summer of 2012 and has since made 36 appearances for City, scoring three goals.
He recently returned from injury to play 90 minutes in the 2-2 draw against Colchester United Under-21s this week.
