CONNECTIONS: Coventry City v Bury - We profile three players who have represented both clubs

12 February 2016

Ahead of the Sky Blues home tie with Bury FC on Saturday we have been looking in to the history of three players that have had association with both clubs…

Coventry City face 15th place Bury in this Saturday's League One fixture and we preview three players who have have featured for both sides, two of which are likely to be among Bury's match-day squad this coming weekend.

Clive Platt

Platt joined Coventry City in July 2010 and made his debut two months later in a 2–0 victory over Portsmouth. He made 67 appearances for the Sky Blues, scoring seven goals in the process.

He also scored his 100th professional goal in a City shirt, aged 34, in a 4-2 defeat to Southampton.

Platt ended his career at Bury in October 2014 due to persistent injury.

Nathan Cameron

Cameron rose through the ranks at the Coventry City academy and went on to make 48 first team appearances for the Sky Blues.

City released the 24-year old in 2013, under previous manager Steven Pressley and the young defender now plays his club football at Bury.

Previously an England U20 international, Cameron has made 95 league appearances and scored nine times for the Shakers – with three of those coming in this season's league campaign.

Leon Clarke

Clarke will be considered one of the most prolific goalscorers that the Ricoh Arena has witnessed in recent years, notching eights goals in his first 11 appearances for the Sky Blues.

The 31-year old striker formed a formidable partnership with (now AFC Bournemouth’s) Callum Wilson and was a firm favorite with Sky Blues fans.

Clarke now plays his football at Bury and lies fifth in the overall goalscorers table for League One this season, with 13 goals. Sky Blues faithfuls will be hoping that the 'curse of the ex-player' will not return to haunt Tony Mowbray's side on Saturday.
