After spells with Crystal Palace and Birmingham City, Morrison signed for the Sky Blues in 2008. He wore the number 19 shirt with a + sign in between the numbers in his first season and ammassed 101 appearances and 23 goals during his time with the club.

The former Republic of Ireland international signed for Colchester in 2012 and spent two years at the club before leaving in the summer. Morrison retired earlier this month.
