Leon Clarke could miss Colchester clash

11 March 2013

City boss Steven Pressley says top scorer unlikely to feature in midweek clash with the U's

The Sky Blues could be without top scorer Leon Clarke for tomorrow night's home league clash with Colchester United.

City boss Steven Pressley said the 28-year-old is "highly unlikely" to be included in Pressley's first home starting line up of the season due to a recurring ankle problem.

Clarke, who has netted 11 times for the Sky Blues since his permanent move from Charlton Athletic in the January transfer window, left Glanford Park on Saturday wearing a protective boot after scoring the winner in City's 2-1 away win over Scunthorpe United.

Pressley, speaking to the media before Tuesday night's clash with the U's, said: "I would say it is highly unlikely that he will feature. We know it's something he's been carrying for a while.

"What we need to do is assess Leon over the next couple of days so we can make an informed decision on how to treat it."
