City defender will miss midweek JPT clash ahead of scan on ankle injury

Coventry City full-back Cyrus Christie will miss Tuesday night's Johnstone's Paint Trophy second round clash with Leyton Orient with an ankle injury.

The defender was substituted late on after picking up the injury in Saturday's 1-0 away win over Stevenage at the Lamex Stadium.

City boss Steven Pressley said: "We're unsure of exactly how long we are going to be without Cyrus until he has had a scan so he will have that and we'll take it from there.

"It's just disappointing for the boy as well as myself because he's been such an influential part of the team up to this point.

"This is now an opportunity though for one of our younger players to step up to the mark. It's these kinds of situations that they have to be ready for so I'll consider the options we have ahead of the game against Leyton Orient tomorrow night."
