'Carsley will make great manager'

25 February 2013

City defender speaks highly of caretaker boss Carsley and City's hunt for promotion

Coventry City defender Nathan Cameron says current Sky Blues interim boss Lee Carsley will make a great manager.

Carsley took charge of first team affairs following Mark Robins' swift departure to Huddersfield Town earlier this month and has amassed two wins and two cleans sheet from his first three games at the helm.

Cameron's recent run in the first team has coincided with Carsley taking charge and the 21-year-old said he is a great coach to work for and has all the attributes to make a great boss.

"I played with Lee in my first season as a professional. He's turned into a great coach and he will turn into a great manager," Cameron said.

"It's been good to be back involved. I'm very pleased because there's more competition for places with Aaron Martin's arrival so I want to do my best to keep my place.

"We still have the drive and determination to do well and there's obviously 12 games still to go and I want to play 90 minutes in every one of those games.

The centre-half also said City's promotion fortunes still lay in their own hands and he added that the Sky Blues have stil not written off their chances of automatic promotion.

"We've still plenty of the season left and if we can go on to win eight or nine of the games left we will be there at the end of the season.

"We looked at Tuesday's result and the two goals we gave away were poor from our point of view so we need to be better as a unit but we still have to play alot of the top teams so if we can put a run together starting with Tuesday against Bournemouth then we've got a good chance of making the play-offs or even automatic promotion."
