Callum Wilson completes switch to Bournemouth from Coventry City

Striker Callum Wilson finalises switch to Bournemouth which sees two Cherries players come the other way

Coventry City striker Callum Wilson has joined Championship club Bournemouth for an undisclosed fee.

Wilson scored 22 goals in 41 appearances for the Sky Blues last season and has attracted strong interest from a number of clubs throughout the summer.

The deal, which takes the 22-year-old to the Goldsands Stadium on a four-year contract, has seen two players move to City on loan with discussions ongoing for a third arrival from the Cherries.

Pressley said: “We didn’t want to lose Callum but he has gone about things in the right way both for him and the club and I totally respect that.

“We wish him all the very best. He had a wonderful season last year and deserved all the praise and accolades that came his way.

“The way he has handled his move has allowed Steve Waggott and I to achieve the best possible deal for the football club – and that means being able to re-invest in the team.

“We are getting two very good players as part of the package with a potential for one more and I’m excited by the arrival of all of them.

“This is purely a football decision made in the interests of giving us the best possible chance of gaining promotion this season.”
