NEWS: Adam Armstrong claims a hat-trick of awards at CCFC’s End of Season Awards ceremony

4 May 2016

Adam Armstrong is the recipient of three awards at the End of Season ceremony, with the management staff naming the 19-year old as Coventry's Young Player of the Season...

Coventry City’s 19-goal striker bags a trio of awards as he is named Young Player of the Year, Top Goalscorer and claims the title of Goal of the Season.

The Newcastle loanee has enjoyed a remarkable season in a Sky Blue shirt, having thrived in his first loan move away from the Tyneside club.

The Sky Blues secured the services of Armstrong back in July 2015 and the then-18 year old made an instantaneous impact - scoring five goals in his first three appearances.

Armstrong was also awarded the SkyBet League One Player of the Month back in August, typified by his audacious 30-yard chipped goal in the 4-0 win at Millwall.

The goal was a standout contender for Goal of the Season and convincingly clinched the prize for the talented youngster, scored in the same month Armstrong put two passed Wigan and netted another against Crewe.

Armstrong has also been in formidable form for England, netting twice in his most recent spell on international duty - ensuring the Young Lions qualification for this summer’s Under 19 European Championships finals in Germany.

Finally, Armstrong has rounded off an impressive season by an inclusion in the PFA League One Team of the Year.
