The Sky Blues right-back has also admitted he is enjoying spending time at the right end of the League One table...

Coventry City right-back Aaron Phillips wants a win at Crewe Alexandra to kick-off 2016 on the right track.

The 23-year old Academy graduate has enjoyed a recent run in the side after injuries to Jordan Willis, Reda Johnson and Ben Turner.

The Sky Blues travel to Gresty Road on Saturday with Phillips likely to be in contention to start his fourth game in a row for Tony Mowbray's side.

Phillips admits he is enjoying his recent run in the side and hopes the team can pick up an important result against Crewe.

The City defender said: "I'm really enjoying my time in the side at the moment. I've been working hard all season so I'm glad it's paying off.

"It's been a great season so far and I'm really enjoying it. We haven't been at the right end of the table many times in the last few years so it's good.

"We need to keep improving though and we've got to pick up results again. We were unlucky against Chesterfield not to get the win we deserved.

"It's been a great season so far and a win at Crewe Alexandra will keep going. It is a great dressing room and we're all determined now."

James Maddison has returned to the first-team in some style, scoring two goals in two matches, and Phillips admits he isn't surprised by the impact he's had.

He added: "He's done brilliantly so far this season and it is great credit to him, and to the club, for all the hard work which has gone in.

"He is a really talented player and it isn't really a surprise what he is doing in the first-team as we've always seen it on the training ground.

"We've got a lot of quality up front this season and it's definitely helped the club progress. I like to get forward as much as possible so it's been great to be involved with that."
