SIGNING: Coventry City confirm the signing of former Charlton Athletic defender Kevin Foley

6 January 2017

The 32-year old has agreed terms with the club until the end of the 2016/17 season upon release from the Addicks...

The Sky Blues make their fourth signing of the January transfer window, as Kevin Foley joins the club after parting ways with League One rivals Charlton Athletic.

The Republic of Ireland international has made 20 appearances for the Addicks this term, playing under now-City boss Russell Slade, having also had recent spells at Championship side Ipswich and Danish club FC Copenhagen.

Foley spent time in the top flight with local Midlands side Wolverhampton Wanderers, and was a vital part of the Wolves squad that won promotion to the Premier League in 2009.

The deal will keep Foley at the club until June 2017, with the option to extend.

Russel Slade said: “Kevin is a top professional, and will be a calming and mature influence on the rest of the squad.

“He’s capable of moving the ball quickly, and is intelligent in his play. I’m pleased to have such an experienced player join the football club.”
