The Sky Blues boss comments on City's first opponents of the new season...
The Sky Blues will line up against Luke Williams' Swindon Town on the opening day of the season, with the fixture to be staged at the County Ground on August 6th.
Both of last season's fixtures against the Robins ended in stalemate, with the away tie finishing 2-2 and the home clash at the Ricoh Arena in a 0-0 draw.
With the new campaign just under seven weeks away, City Manager Tony Mowbray will be looking to replicate last years positive start to the season, taking maximum points from the first three fixtures.
Speaking in the aftermath of the fixture release, Mowbray said: "Swindon present an almost unique threat. The way they play, you have to be prepared for their distinctive brand of football. It’s very expansive.
"They score a lot of goals and perhaps didn’t have as successful season last year as they deserve. Getting to the play-off final the previous year, they had to rebuild after that.
"We’ll wait and see what squad they have built at the beginning of the season, and yet their style of play won’t change. The coach, Luke Williams is the same and he will play his trademark attacking football. It will be a good test for us and we will have to make sure we are organised out of possession as they will be good on the ball.
"An interesting challenge on the opening day for us and I’m looking forward to it."
