SIGNING: Coventry City agree to sign forward Marvin Sordell on a one-year deal with the option to extend

The Sky Blues secure the services of the 25-year old after his departure from League Two side Colchester United…

Coventry City have agreed terms with ex-U’s forward Marvin Sordell on a one-year deal, with a further year option in the club’s favour.

The ex-Watford and Burnley man, who was a part of the 2012 GB squad, caught the eye of Sky Blues Manager Tony Mowbray after an impressive spell at then-fellow League One side Colchester last season. The forward made 25 appearances, scoring six goals.

Sordell will join the rest of the Sky Blues squad in reporting for pre-season training this week.

Coventry City Manager, Tony Mowbray said: "Marvin is a player that the club followed closely last year and was a prime target for us in the summer window.

"He performed extremely well for Colchester United in the first half of last season and will give us another valuable option in attack. Marvin is still relatively young and I see plenty of potential for him to progress with us and make a positive impact on the season."
