SIGNING: Coventry City agree a five month loan deal with West Ham defender Lewis Page

9 August 2016

The 20-year old joins the Sky Blues from Premier League outfit West Ham and is eligible* to feature in tonight’s EFL Cup clash…

Fullback Lewis Page has signed a loan agreement with the Sky Blues, which is set to keep him at the club until January 12th 2017.

Having progressed through the West Ham Academy system, Page made his first-team debut in 2015 during his parent club’s Europa League qualifying campaign. He spent a month on loan at League Two side Cambridge United in the January of last season, making six appearances for the U’s as they eventually finished ninth in England’s fourth tier.

He returned to the Hammers late on in the season to help their Development Squad lift the U21 Premier League Cup as they beat Hull City in the final.

The Hertfordshire born lad has also featured heavily in West Ham’s recent pre-season preparations, including a mach up against Serie A giants Juventus, and could be set for his first Coventry City appearance in tonight’s EFL Cup fixture against Portsmouth.

Coventry City Manager, Tony Mowbray said: “Lewis is a very technical young footballer, who has already benefited from a successful loan spell away from his parent club.

“We have bought him in to create competition in the left-back area, with Chris Stokes likely to be out with injury for longer than expected.

“Lewis is fast and very attack minded, which will fit in well with the system we are trying to play here. I’m looking forward to working with him during his time at the club.”
