SIGNING: Coventry City can confirm the signing of Kyel Reid on a two-year deal

28 July 2016

The Sky Blues complete the signing of ex-Preston North End forward Kyel Reid, subject to Football League approval...

Coventry City confirm their third new signing of the summer, as Kyel Reid pens a two-year deal which is due to activate on August 1st.

The 28-year old, who began his professional career at West Ham United, joins City from Preston North End after spending the backend of the 2015/16 campaign on loan at fellow League One rivals Bradford City.

Reid made 39 appearances for the Bantams last season, scoring four goals and was particularly impressive in the Sky Blues 1-0 win over Bradford at the Ricoh Arena in April.

The midfielder will join the Sky Blues squad in training this week, with the deal set to keep Reid at the club until June 2018.

Coventry City Manager, Tony Mowbray said: "I'm delighted to finally get Kyel's signing over the line and look forward to the energy he will bring to our squad.

"Having made it to the play-off semi-final with Bradford last year, he's another player who I would identify as having the experience needed to compete at the top of this league.

"He is capable of scoring goals at this level and will undoubtedly add creativity to our attacking third. I'm looking forward to working with him over the course of the season."
