The Sky Blues sign Nathan Clarke from League One rivals Bradford City...

Russell Slade makes his first signing as Coventry City manager after agreeing terms with former Huddersfield Town defender Nathan Clarke.

The 33-year old left Huddersfield in 2012, after featuring over 300 times for his hometown club, and played under City boss Slade as Leyton Orient's club captain.

Reuniting with his former manager, Clarke will join the Sky Blues on a deal until the end of the 2016/17 season, having made four appearances for Bradford City this term.

The defender will be eligible to face Bolton Wanderers in League One action on Jan 2nd.

Russell Slade said: “Nathan has got vast experience, particularly at League One level and I have worked well with him in the past.

“He will bring assurance and knowhow, as well as have a positive impact on the younger players.

“We want to fill the squad with players who are willing to give everything for the football club and Nathan fits that requirement.”
