Walking Football growing in popularity as SBitC expand their sessions...
A new session will now take place each Monday from 10:30am-12pm at St Finbarrs Sports & Social Club, adding to the Thursday session which already exists at the venue.
Walking Football has been becoming increasingly popular across the country over the past few years and Sky Blues in the Community now want to promote the game in Coventry.
Walking Football is simply a slow-paced version of the beautiful game for over 50s. It is designed to help people have an active lifestyle regardless of their age and ability, as well as get people back playing football. It’s a great way to keep fit, learn skills, have fun and socialise all at the same time.
Sky Blues in the Community now run three Walking Football sessions in Coventry & Warwickshire:
Mondays: 10:30am-12:00pm at St Finbarrs Sports & Social Club, 303 Holbrook Lane, Coventry, CV6 4DG
Tuesdays: 10:30am-12:00pm at The Oval, Coventry Rd, Bedworth, CV12 8NN
Thursdays: 10:30am-12:00pm at St Finbarrs Sports & Social Club, 303 Holbrook Lane, Coventry, CV6 4DG
Each session costs £3.00 to participate and our Sky Blues in the Community team serve refreshments before and after the session – providing a comfortable and social atmosphere for all involved.
Sessions begin with a warm up followed by a round-robin format of games to ensure everyone gets plenty of playing time. The SBitC Walking Football scheme is proving to be very popular and new participants are always welcome!
