It was the season that saw the Sky Blues reach the semi-finals of the League Cup, losing 4-3 on aggregate to West Ham United. Garry Thompson was the top scorer for City, with 15 goals, while the Sky Blues line up regularly included Paul Dyson, Steve Hunt and Gary Gillespie.
