City's boss eyes a trip to the capital as the Sky Blues make a bid for a quarter-final spot...
Coventry City will host Championship outfit Brighton and Hove Albion on Tuesday evening, with a final eight spot up for grabs.
The fixture will be Slade's first Checkatrade encounter in charge, and the City boss will be hoping to maintain the club's 100% record in the competition.
“We’ve got to this stage, which is great. Really, we need to try and push on with it, the side will go out their to be competitive and try and win the game.
“Arguably, besides one or two, our team will be of a similar age to Brighton. From that point of view, it’ll be evenly matched. We’ll be playing a technical side, players who are on the fringe of their first team.
“They have some good quality in their side, who have first-team experience. We’ll be having all the necessary conversations and preparing in the right way."
The Sky Blues were afforded a weekend off, after Saturday's Port Vale fixture was postponed, and the City boss has hinted that he'll be rotating his squad when Brighton visit tomorrow night.
“It’ll be a different group to the one who played against Bolton, but they know what is expected. One or two of them felt that they haven’t had adequate opportunity, but tomorrow night they will have that. No excuses.
“You’d rather play in front of a packed stadium for the atmosphere, but it is still a competitive match and the reward at the end of the day is a trip to Wembley. That is massive.”
