City fall to defeat against in-form Fleetwood as the visitors extend their unbeaten league run to ten...

The Sky Blues remain rooted to the foot of the table as Cian Bolger headed in a last minute goal for Fleetwood Town at the Ricoh Arena.

The City boss changed the formation of his starting XI, matching the opposition man for man, and looked to have earned a point before Bolger converted from an 89th minute corner.

Russell Slade said: "Obviously disappointing, I thought they were the better side in the first half, arrived with a bit of swagger and confidence. But I thought we came in to it in the second period, Willis has a good chance.

"The goal in the dying minutes has happened a few times now - what you do if you can’t win it is ensure you can’t lose it. We marked well, but we’ve allowed their player to get a run and score.

"Poor goal to concede, it is a set play. We were on the verge of a clean sheet, until we value those basics for 95 minutes then we’re always going to be suspect. There will always be a window of opportunity for the opposition."

The City manager was forced in to a half-time change, as Stuart Beavon limped off with a hamstring strain and Slade confirmed that the club weren't in a position to risk the striker.

He added: "We more than matched them, but got nothing. The pitch wasn’t good, lended itself for the game being messy. But you’ve got to have the ability to win ugly.

"We could have risked Beavon, but we aren’t in a position to do that. Possibly days out, rather than weeks. We did the sensible thing.

"We can’t keep making the same errors, or conceding late on. It is costing us dearly."
