In the wake of the country having raised a record amount for Children in Need this year, Sky Blues in the Community are pleased to announce funding for a further 3 years to continue delivering a range of free multi-sport ‘turn up and play’ holiday activities at local community venues across Coventry and Warwickshire.

The activity sessions, which take place in venues including parks, community centres and sports centres are free for all and available through funding received from BBC Children in Need.

During the recent October Half-Term break, over 450 children took part in activities delivered in 10 local neighbourhoods by SBitC coaches, taking the number of participants over the 1000 mark for this year so far!

Sky Blues in the Community work with organisations such as West Midlands Police, the Positive Youth Foundation, local facilities and other neighbourhood groups to deliver the multi-sport activities, which welcome children with all levels of sporting ability. The aim of the sessions is to promote physical activity and good behaviour by providing a constructive environment for children and young people, with positive role models.

The project allows SBitC to remove some of the barriers people face in taking part in activities like these, including cost, lack of transport, or lack of support.
