The local reserves unit will be at the Ricoh Arena this Saturday ahead of kick-off at our game against Millwall, with information about themselves, their work and how fans can get involved.
159 Regiment The Royal Logistics Corps is an Army Reserve Regiment based in the Midlands. The Regiment’s role is to manage the Army’s supply chain on operations – getting the right kit, to the right people at the right time. On operations, this responsibility can be for hundreds of millions of pounds worth of equipment; everything from ammunition, food, weapons to replacement armoured vehicles.

Reserve regiment soldiers undertake training in supply chain operations that is largely identical to their Regular Army counterparts and is often undertaken alongside them. These courses can also provide opportunities to gain a number of transferable civilian qualifications, including professional diplomas and Master’s degrees.

Most Reservists complete 27 days training per year in order to qualify for their annual tax free allowance. This is normally made up of a 2 week consolidated ‘Annual Deployment Exercise’, half a dozen weekends and as many Wednesdays nights as they can manage. Reservists can also take advantage of the full range of adventure training, military training, and sporting opportunities that the Army Reserve has to offer (and get paid for it at the same time).

The Regiment is based in six locations in the Midlands; Coventry, West Bromwich, Stoke on Trent, Telford, Burton on Trent and Grantham. They are recruiting for part-time roles in supply specialists, chefs, HR administrators and medics, and all roles are open to males and females.

If you are interested in a new challenge, personal development or gaining professional qualifications, or if just want to know a little more about what they do, speak to them near the Jimmy Hill statue on Saturday or e-mail 159RLC-Recruitment@mod.uk or call 07826 914960.
