“There is disappointment in the dressing room, but we have to take the positives into the next game." - Coventry City's Jordan Willis

Captain Jordan Willis on the Sky Blues' late disappointment against Peterborough United...

Defender Jordan Willis took positives from the Sky Blues’ battling performance, despite being denied all three points in the final moments.

Michael Bostwick scored in injury time to give the Posh a share of the spoils, after Willis himself had earlier put City ahead with his fourth goal of the season.

The 22-year old is hoping the result can give his teammates something to build on ahead of their next fixture. He said: “There is disappointment in the dressing room, but we have to take the positives because the performance was a lot better than it has been in recent weeks. It puts an end to an unwanted run of losses.

“Everyone in there is positive that we can build on this and go into Monday’s game against Bolton in high spirits. The fight was there and we scrapped when we needed to, but also tried to play our game when we could.

“Sometimes decisions go for you, and other times they don’t, but it was disappointing for their goal because we didn’t defend the ball into the box - So it doesn’t matter what may have happened before that.”

After his effort against Bristol Rovers, Willis’ finish midway through the first half continued what has been a so-far seasonal best in front of goal.

“Four for the season - I don’t know what’s going on! I remember the ball coming into the box and Andy Rose winning the flick on. I am getting ready to challenge with the ‘keeper and he doesn’t come out.

“I think it has come off my knee in the end, but it’s always great to get on the scoresheet again and hopefully get another one next week!

He added: “It is good for the squad that new additions are likely before the Bolton game - If we can add strength in depth that can only help us improve the position we are currently in moving forward.”
