INJURY NEWS: “McCann’s experience and quality on the ball will be another good addition.” - Coventry City’s Tony Mowbray

Fullback Jamie Sterry could also return after missing out at the weekend with mild concussion...

The City boss has confirmed that both Chris McCann and Andy Rose are nearing a return to fitness, while Chris Stokes still needs a couple more weeks work alongside the physio team.

McCann hasn’t featured since he limped off against Fleetwood, having suffered a groin injury, but Tony Mowbray has suggested the 29-year old could be in contention to feature tomorrow night against Wimbledon.

Mowbray said: “All getting closer, I think McCann will be close this week. Of course McCann’s experience and quality on the ball will be another good addition.

“Andy Rose is getting there, he’s getting close. He has been a loss for us physically, someone who can head the ball in at the back stick. His running and power to get forward, so he’ll be a good addition when he’s back.

“Chris Stokes is out there running at the moment, but not joining in with any of the football stuff so he is a few weeks away yet. But hopefully McCann and Rose won’t be far away.”
