INJURY NEWS: “Jodi Jones is touch and go, we won’t risk him. He might have a chance on Tuesday night.” - Coventry City’s Tony Mowbray

City boss Tony Mowbray gives an update on the fitness of the Sky Blues squad ahead of upcoming pre-season fixtures...

Tony Mowbray’s side travel to Welsh outfit Newport County tomorrow, ahead of a trip to Carrow Road to play Norwich City on Tuesday evening.

Chris Stokes is still suffering with an ongoing knee injury, with the physio team monitoring his progression and are hopeful he will return to training within a few weeks. New signing Kwame Thomas also won’t travel tomorrow, while he continues his rehab back at base camp in Ryton.

The City boss said: “Stokes will not be available, he was in London yesterday. We are hopeful that he might be available in a week to 10 days to start training again. He has done a lot of the pre-season work, but has had a slight setback.

“Kwame is not quite ready yet, he starts the session with the rest of the group then goes off with the physio team to do specific rehab work.

“Jodi Jones is touch a go, we won’t risk him at the moment. He might have a chance on Tuesday night. He has got a tightness that we don’t want to risk, we’re being cautious and easing him in. Build him up bit by bit.”
