INJURY NEWS: "Rose and Stokes are out training, making progress and getting closer every day" - Coventry City's Tony Mowbray

23 September 2016

The Sky Blues manager has given an update on the fitness of his squad as he prepares for a trip to Gillingham...

City boss Tony Mowbray is still without two long term absentees in Chris Stokes and Andy Rose, but Chris McCann edges closer to full fitness

This weekend will come too soon for the on-loan Sky Blues midfielder, but Mowbray is hoping to have McCann back and available for selection in the near future.

Tony Mowbray said: "Andy Rose and Chris Stokes are out there training, making good progress and getting closer every day. Rose is close to joining with the group and Stokes is a few weeks away.

"I think McCann is now very close but we have to monitor these players and make sure we don't bring them back into the fold too early."

He added: "I'm not sitting here and saying we'll have three new players available shortly but they're making good progress and getting closer day-by-day."
