Chris Stokes has another few weeks under the care of the City medical team before being considered for selection...

Caretaker Manager, Mark Venus has confirmed that Andy Rose may be included in the weekend’s matchday squad after a successful 90 minutes for City’s U23s side midweek.

The midfielder played the entirety of the Sky Blues' 5-3 win over Watford, and has been making steady progress in training over the past three weeks.

Venus is nearing a full bill of health for the tie against Rochdale tomorrow, while affirming that a couple of ’niggles’ will need to be assessed ahead of kick-off.

He said: “I think Andy might be in contention this weekend, I haven’t made my mind up yet. Andy has been fantastic in training, he’s a great professional and we need as many players available for selection as possible.

“Everyone trained today, we’ve got a couple of niggles so we’ll be assessing those.

“Chris Stokes has been doing some straight line running, but he’ll need some game minutes before being considered. He’s two or three weeks away I’d say.”
