HEAD TO HEAD: Coventry City v Oxford United - City aim to complete the season double against the U's

17 November 2016

After victory at the Ricoh earlier in the season, the Sky Blues will be hoping to make it a double this weekend...

Coventry go into Saturday’s game against Oxford United looking to complete the seasonal double over the U's after a 2-1 win at the Ricoh.

Record:
Played – 8
Games won – 6
Games drawn – 0
Games lost – 2

In what is a fairly new head-to-head record, the Sky Blues hold the advantage winning six of those meetings and losing just twice.

The Sky Blues hosted Oxford in October, and a Ben Stevenson wonder goal helped them on their way to their first three points at home in League One. Marvin Sordell capitalised on a defensive mix-up to double the advantage, before Dan Crowley hit a stoppage time consolation.

Previously, the Sky Blues and the U's had not met since 1988, in which City ran out 1-0 victors courtesy of a Cyrille Regis strike.
