Three goals in nine dramatic second-half minutes overturned the Sky Blues first-half lead after two penalties and a sending off went against the visitors.
City deservedly went ahead in the 13th minute as debutant striker Daniel Agyei, who joined on loan from Burnley last week, put the visitors in to the lead. Agyei muscled his way into the penalty area, before clipping the ball over an onrushing Colin Doyle and in to the Bradford net.
The home side came back into the game just after the hour mark, as Sky Blues defender Jordan Turnbull fouled Billy Clarke in the box and was dismissed for the challenge. Tony McMahon equalised from the spot, before Mark Marshall leathered a shot in from 25-yards and the Bradford skipper - again from 12-yards - rounded off the scoring.
