FIXTURE: The Sky Blues set to face Austrian side SK Sturm Graz in a change to the friendly fixture schedule

13 July 2016

Coventry City can announce that a friendly fixture has been confirmed with previous Austrian Bundesliga champions SK Sturm Graz…

The Sky Blues kicked off the first of five days of preseason yesterday and are set to round off the trip with a match against three times Austrian Bundesliga winners SK Sturm Graz.

In a change to the originally billed fixture against Al Ettifaq FC, the newly scheduled game will take place on Saturday (16th) at the Austrian sides training ground in Graz and will be an 11.00am (10.00am UK time) kick-off.

Die Schwoazn, as they are commonly known in Austria, have experience playing in both the UEFA Champions League and UEFA Europa League and last won the Austrian Bundesliga in 2011.

Coventry City Manager, Tony Mowbray said: "The group have been working hard in training over the passed few days and we'll be building up to a difficult match on Saturday. The Austrian side have experience playing European football and have been champions of their country so I'm expecting a tough challenge. I'm anticipating a side of that quality to have a lot of the ball, so we'll have to work hard out of possession and be clear in our organisation, shape and transitional play."
