NEWS: Post-match appreciation on Saturday - and fans reminded to stay off the pitch

2 May 2024

Coventry City host Queens Park Rangers at the Coventry Building Society Arena this Saturday, 4th May, in the final game of the 2023/24 campaign.

It has been an exhilarating season for the Sky Blues, which saw the side reach the Emirates FA Cup Semi-Final and included superb home wins over Leicester City, Leeds and others, plus memorable away victories at Wolves, and Sunderland plus elsewhere. There have been a record 19,500 Season Ticket holders and a significant increase in attendances.

As the season concludes, the Sky Blues players and staff will take part in a lap of appreciation following the game to thank fans for their support during the 2023/24 season.

Players, squad members and staff will assemble pitchside before starting the lap.

However, the players and staff will only be able to do this if supporters remain in the stands. If any fans are on the pitch, this will not be able to happen.

Supporters are also reminded not to enter the field of play at any point of Saturday’s game.

Entering the pitch is a criminal offence, and fans who do so under any circumstances face police action as well as a ban from Coventry City matches.

The Club also faces a significant fine if supporters enter the field of play.

Manager Mark Robins said:

“The support from the Sky Blue Army has been absolutely fantastic both home and away, and at Wembley in the FA Cup Semi-Final too.

“We have shared some great memories and moments together this season - this Saturday gives us all, as players, staff and the Club, an opportunity to thank our fans for their support this season.

“For that to happen, it is of course imperative that supporters do not go on the pitch at any point.

“We look forward to Saturday’s game, which is extra special as we welcome back former players for Legends Day as well, and being with our supporters one more time before thoughts turn to the 2024/25 season.”
