City perfect for Bailey

New loan signing says the move to the Ricoh Arena was a perfect fit for him

New Sky Blues loan signing James Bailey says the move is a perfect fit for him.

The 24-year-old defender-slash-midfielder penned a three-month loan deal with the club from Derby County on Tuesday and he said that once he learned of the interest from City boss Mark Robins it was a decision he made in seconds.

"The gaffer said that he'd like to take me on loan and I'd heard good things about him anyway and the club speaks for itself so it's the perfect move for me," he said.

"It all happened really fast but I'm delighted to be here, it's a massive club with a great bunch of lads that all want to do well for the club and I know some of them like Reece Brown, Callum Ball and Kevin Kilbane so it's made the whole settling in part of it really relaxing.

Bailey comes into the Sky Blues side as they prepare for a trip to the Emirate to take on Arsenal in the Capital One Cup third round on Wednesday night but he said although he was looking forward to the tie, he was more concerned with helping City get back to winning ways in the league.

"If the gaffer picks me my main aim is to help the club win games. Obviously I want to play regularly and I know I have to work hard if I want to do that but nobody's place in the team is cemented  and it's down to all of us to stake a claim.

"We'll get through the game against Arsenal and then look forward to the really big games in the league like Saturday because I want to help the club win games. I obviously want to do well for myself but the team is more important than any of that.

"I think the wway the manager wants us to play and his style suits my game, I like to get the ball on the floor, pop it around and keep it active so I'm really looking forward to the challenge here and I'm really looking forward to getting started."
